Karim Benzema Injury major Update vs Celtic in UCL First Match

Karim Benzema was taken off the field with an injury in the first half of Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Celtic, which is the worst thing that could have happened for Real Madrid fans this season. At that point, the score was 0-0 and, surprise, the Scottish giants were the superior team. Los Blancos would seize control in the second half and win 3-0.

Benzema’s injury status would have been the primary concern for Real Madrid fans after the game. The Frenchman is a vital member of this club, and there is currently no real replacement for him up front.

Consequently, while Real Madrid may have been capable of scoring three goals against Celtic on the night in question, it is dubious if they will be able to continue operating at a high level if Benzema is sidelined for an uncertain period of the time.

The prognosis for Benzema’s injury is positive, as it does not appear to be a major one, even though the full degree of the damage is unknown. According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti spoke on the matter:

“Yes, it does not appear concerning, but we must wait for tomorrow’s exams. The initial scan does not indicate a major condition, but we must wait till tomorrow. It is yet unknown whether it is muscular. It is unclear. Therefore, we must wait until tomorrow.”

Real Madrid’s Ancelotti provides an excellent injury update on Karim Benzema.

It is excellent news that Benzema does not appear to have sustained a serious injury, and we can only hope to see him back on the field as soon as possible.

The Frenchman had not gotten off to a particularly strong start to the season and appeared to be struggling. Now, it has to be seen whether he is stronger upon his comeback from what appears to be a minor injury sustained against Celtic.

It remains to be known how many games, if any, he will miss. Real Madrid will play Mallorca this weekend, RB Leipzig in midweek, and Atletico Madrid the following weekend.
