2022 Speedway Grand Prix Torun More Details:

Pawel Przedpelski, Emil Sayfutdinov, Patryk Dudek, and Robert Lambert will all represent the Torun club in 2022, hoping to capitalize on their home-track familiarity in the Torun SpeedwayGP.
But anything may happen on one of the world’s fairest and most entertaining race circuits.

Dan Bewley is due to finish off a great rookie season at the 2022 FIM Speedway Grand Prix final round in Torun, but he remains composed in the face of his achievements.
The 23-year-old was not originally supposed to be among the permanent riders this season. It was only called up as a result of suspensions for Russian riders Artem Laguta and Emil Sayfutdinov due to the situation in Ukraine.
Taking his chance with both hands, Bewley has virtually sprinted up the standings to fifth place, seven points behind bronze medalist Patryk Dudek.

When he spoke ahead of the meeting, Bewley was upbeat about his chances of a historic podium finish this season.
“It’d be cool,” he commented casually. “It would be wonderful if we finished third.” It makes little difference if we don’t. It’s been a fantastic year. And whatever happens, it won’t change the fact that this has been a terrific year.” But, if we’re going to go, we might as well go and attempt to have a good performance and give ourselves the best opportunity of winning a medal.
“I think in my current position, I’d have to have a fairly good night to finish third overall.” So, for me, it’s just going to have some fun and try to mix it up on the track to get the best outcome possible. That’s all I can say; try to concentrate on ourselves. And, yes, have some fun while attempting to get an excellent result.”

Bewley’s ‘excellent year’ made history by winning his maiden Grand Prix at round six in Cardiff, breaking Britain’s 15-year drought for an FIM British Speedway GP winner.
He then won in Wroclaw to make it back-to-back victories, briefly moving him into the coveted third slot and fueling rumors of a future title bid.
Despite being unable to keep up with eventual champions Bartosz Zmarzlik, Bewley finished second in the GP Challenge event, earning him automatic qualification to the Speedway Grand Prix series in 2023.
Torun’s pressure may be alleviated now that his spot for next season is confirmed, as he does not need to finish in the top six.
“The actual goals for this year before the season were just to try and qualify for the SGP for next year,” he revealed as he reflected on his season thus far. “So we’re already on house money, so let’s have some fun.” The most memorable moment for me was undoubtedly Cardiff, and it was extraordinary to win my maiden Grand Prix in front of my home crowd. And to follow it up in Wroclaw two weeks later was also quite spectacular.
“But the GP in Prague and the GP in Gorzow after that were two of the most unforgettable things for me.”

Bewley reached his first semi-final in the Czech Republic, beginning a streak of five consecutive meetings.
“Those were the races when I genuinely felt like I had a chance to win, that I deserved to be there, and that I was a part of it.” So, yeah, that’s something I’ll remember, but winning my first Grand Prix is significant.”
Although his form has fallen significantly due to disappointing results in the two most recent rounds in Vojens and Malilla, Bewley is taking it in stride and is determined to discover and correct any faults on the track moving forward.
“It’s been difficult, “He admitted it. “I believe that there was some inexperience at Malilla, the previous GP. We made some mistakes with the equipment, and I also made some mistakes as a rider in practice.
“And then in Vojens before that, I didn’t have as good a result again,” he continued. It was similar once more. It’s one thing to be quick on the track; it’s another to get solid starts and place yourself in excellent positions. And I believe it’s just trying to learn from it and improve for next year.”

But what does ‘next year have in store for us? With his spot confirmed, Bewley is hopeful of another successful season, believing that with improvements from this season, he can shoot straight for the top and aims to enjoy every second of his Speedway Grand Prix trip.
“I think every rider in GP wants to be world champion, so that’s the goal,” he explained. “But, at the end of the day, I think for next year, it’s just about trying to incorporate what we’ve learned this year and learning from our mistakes as well as some of the things we did well.”
“If we can accomplish that again next year, I think we’ll be in a perfect position to be in the top three, maybe higher, but yeah, just keep having fun and seeing what we can do.”
