The Ronde van Drenthe is a tournament that always appears on the schedule for the highest level of golf. It is the sixth round of the Women’s World Tour. The date of the race is set for March 11th, and it will take place in the Netherlands.

The route from Emmen to Hoogeveen includes a number of circuits across cobbled sections and four ascents of the VAM Berg, the final of which is with more than 40 kilometres to go before reaching the finish line. Historically, the riders who have done well in this race have been strong one-day specialists who excel on flatter terrain.

Preview of Ronde van Drenthe

As one of the events that make up the Spring Classics, the Ronde van Drenthe is typically held in the month of March. The strong and the quick cross the finish line first in this one-day competition. The race will take place on portions of the route that are comprised of cobblestones; however, the VAM Berg, which is the ascent built on top of a former garbage dump, will be the factor that determines the winner.

Adrie Visser, a rider from the Netherlands, was the first person to claim victory in this competition, which took place in 2007. Since then, other riders from the Netherlands have won nine of the event’s 14 iterations, including Chantal Beltman, Loes Gunnewijk, Marianne Vos three times, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, Amy Pieters, and twice Lorena Wiebes.
Other champions include Emma Johansson, Lizzie Deignan, Jolien D’hoore, Amalie Dideriksen and Marta Bastianelli.
