WWE Elimination Chamber Preview
The Royal Rumble saw Sami Zayn eliminated from The Bloodline by Roman Reigns. In Montreal’s Elimination Chamber on February 18th, Zayn has a chance for vengeance against the Tribal Chief.
In the final pay-per-view of the year before WrestleMania 39, the WWE’s biggest names from Raw and SmackDown will travel to Canada for one of the company’s most intense and exhausting events. An enormous steel ring with four inner enclosures, one at each corner, makes up the Elimination Chamber. Starting with just two competitors in the ring, each of the four chambers reveals a competitor a few minutes into the match. Elimination occurs via pinfall or submission.
The United States championship held by Austin Theory and the Raw Women’s championship held by Bianca Belair will both be on the line in two elimination chamber matches this year. Edge and Beth Phoenix, who are married, will be competing as a mixed tag team against Finn Bálor and Rhea Ripley.
In front of Zayn’s home crowd in Montreal, the undisputed WWE universal championship will be decided in the main event matchup between Reigns and Zayn. When it comes to Zayn, can Reigns finally put him behind him? Perhaps Zayn will be able to exact some sort of revenge for being kicked out of his favourite group.
All the details, including the confirmed match card, for the Elimination Chamber 2023 are provided below. Additionally, you can view the highlights and previous outcomes of this yearly pay-per-view event.
WWE Elimination Chamber Matches 2023
Championship of the Undisputed World of Wrestling: WWE Superstar Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sami Zayn: It was Zayn’s chair blow to Reigns at the Royal Rumble that kicked off their long-awaited match. One of the best storylines WWE has produced in a long time is the Bloodline’s adoption of “Honorary Uce” Zayn. At the Rumble, Reigns directed Zayn to hit his estranged best friend Owens with a chair shot to the head. Zayn was unable to end Reigns’s career with a single punch, so he used the chair to beat him. Zayn made it clear he was coming for Reigns and his titles, but Reigns knocked him around before promising to fight Zayn in front of his family in Montreal.
Elimination Chamber match for the United States title between Austin Theory (c) and Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, and Montez Ford: Theory will defend his United States championship inside the Elimination Chamber, as was announced on the January 30 episode of Monday Night Raw. In the coming weeks, many well-known players will compete in qualifying matches. Ford is a fascinating longshot contender for the championship, but the match will likely be dominated by the heated rivalry between Theory and Rollins.
Elimination Chamber Match: Raquel Rodriguez vs. Nikki Kross vs. Asuka vs. Natalya vs. Carmella winner of the women’s Royal Rumble: Rhea Ripley announced her intention to compete for the SmackDown women’s championship. At WrestleMania 39, Belair will defend the Raw women’s championship against the winner of an Elimination Chamber match between the top two contenders, as announced by authority figure Adam Pearce. After the Rumble match, the four remaining competitors (Morgan, Asuka, Kross, and Rodriguez) were selected to compete in the first round of the Elimination Chamber. Both Natalya and Carmella qualified for the main event through tournament victories.
Battle of the Sexes: Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley: Last year, Ripley hit Phoenix with a Con-Chair-To, prompting Edge to walk out on the match and hand Balor the victory. It looks like the Elimination Chamber will be the scene of a long-awaited act of vengeance. On Raw, Ripley and Edge issued the challenge for the match, and Balor accepted it. Ripley is challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown women’s title at WrestleMania.
