After competing in four consecutive U.S. tournaments, LIV Golf is sending its top players overseas for the first time since the first tournament in London. With so much time passed since the inaugural tournament, the 2022 LIV Golf event, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, promises to be the best ever, with a more competitive field and more cohesive teams than ever.
This Friday marks the beginning of the second week of LIV Golf’s debut season, during which they will host their first event in Asia. The competition for the LIV Golf Bangkok will take place at the brand-new Stonehill Golf Course, located north of Bangkok in Thailand, which newly opened this year. Stonehill is a private club.
Due to the fact that this will be the very first professional event ever held at the track, not much information is currently available about it. The course is listed as a Par-72 with 7,350 yards, which is considered relatively short by professional standards. Because of this, there is an excellent chance of a lot of scoring, particularly on the four Par-5 holes; therefore, we will need to consider this while making our betting decisions.
The 4 Aces GC team, led by LIV Boston champion Dustin Johnson, is now in the lead. The world No. 23 has had an impressive run in the LIV Golf, a triumph in Boston, and runner-up finishes in Chicago and Bedminster, in addition to two other top-10 finishes.
Johnson has established a lead of 39 points over Branden Grace, who is now in second place in the season-long race, thanks to the fact that he has accumulated a total of 118 points over the first five competitions. Cameron Smith, the winner of the LIV Golf Chicago event, currently sits in third place and will try to keep his momentum flowing in Bangkok to narrow the gap between him and Johnson.

The Profile of the LIV Golf Invitational Held in Bangkok
This week, LIV Golf explores uncharted territory by traveling to Thailand, and then next week, it will head back to Saudi Arabia, the country that serves as both its financial and spiritual home.
The sixth and seventh events of the first season mark the end of the regular stage of the competition. This is because the final event, which will take place in Miami, will only be open to teams rather than individual competitors.
Therefore, players will be vying for the year’s final two extremely lucrative payouts this week and the following week.
And considering that most Americans working in this industry have minimal prior experience in Asia, it will be a departure from the ordinary for the vast majority of them.

Should points be allocated to LIV Golf for their world ranking?
In 2023, the formal debut season of the LIV Golf League will begin with a total of 14 tournaments, 48 players, and 12 established team franchises competing against one another. Even though the tournaments are scheduled to take place throughout North and Latin America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe, the locations of those tournaments have not yet been determined, nor has the world ranking status of those tournaments been determined.
Dustin Johnson commented, “I think we deserve them [global ranking points],” referring to the accolades. “It seems obvious to me that we ought to have these competitions given the caliber of players we have out here and the events we are currently holding. It seems reasonable to me. I believe that their approach is quite astute and intelligent; yet, I am crossing my fingers that they make the right choice and award us points toward our world ranking.”
