The 2023 Players Championship, one of the year’s biggest events, will begin to play on Thursday at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course as the 2022–23 PGA Tour season continues its Florida swing this week. The Players Championship is more than ever living up to its reputation as the fifth major, boasting one of the finest fields in the world and a new $25 million purse that exceeds even major championship golf. There have only ever been six two-time winners of the tournament, which has been contested at TPC Sawgrass since 1982 and started in 1974.

The PGA Tour’s premier competition, the 2023 Players Championship, gets underway this week at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Players Championship TV schedule, streaming schedule, and entire first- and second-round tee times are all listed here for your convenience. This week at the storied TPC Sawgrass, the epic struggle for the top spot in the world rankings resumes. The title is presently held by Jon Rahm, who reclaimed it after beating Scottie Scheffler at the Genesis Invitational. Scheffler had attained the top spot after winning the WM Phoenix Open.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational, which took place last week, saw Rory McIlroy, who started the year at No. 1, end T2. This week’s first two matches feature all three stars together. The Players, the fourth such tournament in five weeks, has a purse of $25 million, of which $4.5 million will go to the victor.
