The F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2022 is a Formula One motor race that will take place on 28 August 2022 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Stavelot, Belgium. The race will be the seventeenth round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship and marks the return of the Belgian Grand Prix to the calendar after a one-year absence.

This will be the 70th running of the Belgian Grand Prix, the 63rd time that the race has been a Formula One World Championship round and the 50th time that it has been held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. George Russell is the defending race winner after he won for Williams in 2020, while Lewis Hamilton is the defending World Drivers’ Champion, having won his seventh title at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix.

Preliminary work on a revised layout for Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps began in 2019 to improve safety and bring the track up to modern standards. The FIA World Motor Sport Council approved these changes in August 2019. As a result, the revised layout will be used for the first time at the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix.

As of 2021, no other races are scheduled to occur on the same weekend as the Belgian Grand Prix. However, this is subject to change as the Formula One calendar is often revised during the season.

This will be the first Formula One race held in Belgium since the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last Belgian Grand Prix held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps was in 2019.

This year’s edition of the Belgian Grand Prix is set to take place on the 4th Sunday of August at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps – located in Stavelot, Belgium. The race has been a regular fixture on the Formula 1 calendar since 1950 and is widely considered one of the circuit’s most challenging and exciting races.

Lewis Hamilton is the defending race winner after winning for Mercedes in 2020. He will be looking to make it three in a row this year and cement his status as one of the most significant drivers in Formula 1 history.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will also be one to watch this year. The young Frenchman has been in superb form this season and hopes to continue his momentum at Spa. Leclerc took his maiden Formula 1 victory at the Belgian Grand Prix last year and will be looking to repeat the feat in 2022.

Other drivers to keep an eye on including Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who is always a threat at Spa, and McLaren’s Lando Norris, who has impressed so far this season.
