Chelsea Sacked Thomas Tuchel after losing against Dinamo Zagreb in UCL’s First match also a slow start in English Premier League 2022/23
The new Chelsea ownership has fired head coach Thomas Tuchel. This decision was made after Dinamo Zagreb defeated the Blues on Tuesday in the first game of their Champions League campaign.
Tuchel’s final game in command of the Blues was the 100th of his tenure. It took place in Croatia. A parting of ways with the German was apparently not a hasty choice on the side of Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and Jose Feliciano. Instead, the decision was taken after a heated period at Stamford Bridge, lasting several weeks.
Some members of the club’s ownership group started to worry that manager Thomas Tuchel wasn’t a good long-term fit. Given the preferred cooperative approach, his reluctance to be involved in future transfer dealings and the club’s quest for a sporting director, who would’ve worked alongside the 49-year-old, were both less than ideal.

This morning, the new owners met with Tuchel personally to inform him of the decision to dismiss him from his position as head coach, according to football. London sources. The players were not informed of the decision until Chelsea confirmed it.
“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with head coach Thomas Tuchel,” says a club statement.
There were rumblings before Tuesday night’s loss that Tuchel wasn’t the right man to take the club into the new era under co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, and many felt the German’s position was in jeopardy regardless of the result in Zagreb.
Once Tuchel is gone, Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will waste no time in replacing him and will begin communicating with their targets. Chelsea has made contact with Brighton in an effort to talk with Potter, and the club hopes to conduct a rapid due diligence process in order to hire the appropriate guy as soon as possible.
Chelsea may also try to negotiate with unemployed coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane in addition to approaching Graham Potter. Roger Schmidt, the manager of Benfica, is another possible choice.
