Where will the Astana Open 2022 take place?
The Astana Open is held in Kazakhstan’s National Tennis Center in Astana. It is played on hard indoor courts.
The tournament, which was founded in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, is now in its third year and has been upgraded to ATP 500 rank because tournaments could not be staged in China.

The first quarter is highlighted by Carlos Alcaraz.
After winning his first US Open championship and rising to World No.1, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is poised to compete in his first event as a World No.1 for the first time in his career as the top seed in the Astana Open. He begins his campaign in the first round against Lucky Loser David Goffin. He is projected to win this competition and will compete against Adrian Mannarino in the second round.

Andrey Rublev, the tournament’s fifth seed, is the other seeded player in this quarter. Rublev will face Laslo Djere in the opening round and will almost certainly face Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, qualifier Zhang Zhizhen has advanced to the second round after stunning first-round opponent Aslan Karatsev.
Tsitsipas led the second quarter.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who exited the first round of the US Open, returns to the ATP Tour and is seeded third in the Astana Open. In the first round, he will face Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan. The draw also includes qualifiers Alexander Shevchenko and Luca Nordi, who will face off in the first round. If Tsitsipas wins his first-round match, the winner of this battle will meet him in the second round.
The seventh seed The only other seeded player in this quarter is Hubert Hurkacz, who advanced to the second round after defeating Francisco Cerundolo in the first round. Tallon Griekspoor and Alexander Bublik are also in the quarterfinals and will meet in the first round.

Novak Djokovic accepted a wildcard to the Astana Open after winning the Tel Aviv Open and will compete as the fourth seed. He’ll kick off his campaign against Cristian Garin. The winner of this competition will face Boric van de Zandschulp in the second round. In the first round, Zandschulp defeated Kazakhstan’s wildcard entrant Beibit Zhukayev in straight sets.
Marin Cilic, the other seeded player in this quarter, will begin his campaign in the first round against Oscar Otte. Cilic, who recently lost to Djokovic in the final of the Tel Aviv Open, is expected to meet the Serbian in the tournament’s quarterfinals. The other players in this draw are Maxime Cressy and Karen Khachanov, who will face off in the first round.
Daniil Medvedev leads the fourth quarter.
Daniil Medvedev is the second seed at the Astana Open and leads the last quarter of the draw. In the opening round, the Russian will face Albert Ramos Vinolas of Spain. Felix Auger Aliassime was the only other seeded player in this quarter, but the eighth seed fell in the first round against Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut.
In the second round, Agut will face the winner of the match between Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Pavel Kotov. Mark Andre-Huesler, who won his first ATP championship last week at the Sofia Open, is also in this draw and will face Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round.
