The PFL 10 World Championships are taking place on Friday at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater. In the main event, Kayla Harrison (15-0), a multiple champions, will square off against Larissa Pacheco (18-4) for the third time in their respective careers.

Harrison just defeated Martina Jundrova through first-round submission in August. On the same card, Pacheco competed and defeated Olena Kolesnyk via first-round TKO. Harrison won both of their first two encounters by a unanimous vote.

This high-profile event’s main match pits Kayla Harrison against the forceful Larissa Pacheco.

There have already been two fights between these two opponents, with Harrison winning both times.

Can Pacheco eventually defeat her formidable foe? Will Harrison succeed with his hat trick or not?

PFL 10 World Championship Preview and Betting Tips:

Harrison hopes to become a four-time PFL 10 World Championship with a victory over a familiar foe. Harrison has only allowed a bout go to the scorecards three times in her career, two of which were against Pacheco. Pacheco is her most formidable opponent, and the fight on Friday has a lot of potential to be very competitive.

On the ground, the Judo champion will seek to dominate. She always tries to implement her grappling game plan and grind out ground finishes. She has some of the most dominant grapplings we’ve ever seen in MMA, and she’ll undoubtedly want to demonstrate that on Friday. When her level changes, she will need to employ a lot of feints and strikes to conceal herself.

It would be an understatement to say Kayla Harrison is the PFL. No woman means more to the PFL than Harrison, which is due to her air of invincibility. When she fights other women, it’s more of a mauling than a combat. Consider a lioness mauling a gazelle.

The woman with more gold than Fort Knox has won 12 of her 15 battles, and the one knock against her is that she has yet to defeat the sport’s finest fighters. She’s a 155’er (lightweight), and there aren’t many women her size or strength. Finding “top talent” to compete with is difficult. PFL signed Julia Budd in the hopes that she would keep Harrison interested; after all, Budd was a dominant Bellator champion. Nonetheless, Budd was unable to make the playoffs. Boxing sensation Claressa Shields was another name the PFL believed would challenge Harrison, but she has a long way to go.

Instead, Larissa Pacheco, a lady Harrison has already defeated twice, will stand opposite from her. While she hasn’t had much success, she has accomplished something that just one other woman (Marina Mokhnatkina) has accomplished: she has survived. Harrison is so dominant that she has only hit the third round four times and has only needed to leave the first round nine times.

Pacheco has twice gone the distance with Harrison, so she has a chance. Since her fight with Harrison, Pacheco has gone 5-0 with five KO/TKOs. While Harrison is a specialist at producing blood messes, Pacheco has proven to be a formidable opponent. All she has to do is slip one under Harrison’s chin to end the battle.

Unless Harrison grabs you and throws you to the ground. Then it’s probably time to turn off the lights.

Predictions: Kayla Harrison will win via TKO.
