The Asia Cup is an international cricket tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with the first edition being held in 1984. It is the second oldest continental cricket tournament after the European Cricket Championship, which was founded in 1935. The event is currently held every two years. The most recent edition was held in 2018 in the United Arab Emirates and featured eight teams playing in a round-robin format, with each team playing the other once. The top four teams qualified for the semi-finals, with India eventually winning the tournament after defeating Bangladesh in the final.
The 2022 Asia Cup is scheduled to be played from 27th August to 11th September 2022. However, in October 2021, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that Sri Lanka would host the tournament in 2022 but On 21 July 2022 Sri Lanka Informed ACC, that they couldn’t arrange the tournament due to their country’s economical and political conditions. After that, ACC confirmed It will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates and will feature Six teams playing in a round-robin format, with each team playing the other once. The top four teams will qualify for the Super Four. The most interesting match on the group stage is India vs Pakistan.
