INVITATION
The organizers, the International Chess Federation FIDE and the Romanian Chess Federation, in collaboration with Chess Club Universul and Chess Club Juniorul Constanta, invite all FIDE national chess federations to compete in the World Youth Chess Championships 2022. The dates are September 5 (arrivals and technical meeting) until September 17, 2022. (departures).
PARTICIPATION
2.1. Each National Federation can register one official player in each category (under 14, 16, 18, open, and females). The Organizers invite six (6) Official Players plus one Accompanying Official (captain/trainer with a valid FIDE Trainer license) from each national federation. A player must not have turned 14 years old, 16 years old, or 18 years old before January 1, 2022.
2.2. Players who finished 1-3 in the previous U14, U16, and U18 World Youth Championships, as well as the respective Champions of the previous Continental Youth Championships, have the personal right to compete in the World Youth Championships of the corresponding age category or a higher age-category if the age stipulation in Art. 2.1 above is met. These players will be classified as Official Players and must be registered with the national federation.
2.3. Players who are not Official Players are classified as Additional Players. Other than players and Accompanying Officials, all other individuals are designated as Accompanying Persons. Each National Federation is liable for any Additional Players and Accompanying Persons charges.
2.4. To ensure adequate tournament conditions, Federations must carefully complete and submit the official online registration form to the Organizers by Wednesday, July 20, 2022. The official players cannot be registered as invited players beyond this deadline. According to FIDE regulations, extra participation may be refused, or a fee of 80 € (euros) may be asked.
The format of the tournament will be a round-robin. This means that each player will play every other player in their age group. The winner of each age group will be the player with the most points at the end of the tournament.
