The first leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix (of four) in Astana, Kazakhstan, from September 18 to September 29, 2022. A round-robin tournament with 12 players is the format. The time limit is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 minutes for the rest of the game, plus a 30-second increment beginning on move one. The total prize money is 80,000 euros. According to the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, the event will bring together 12 of the world’s greatest female chess players in Nur-Sultan.
Bibisara Assaubayeva will compete in the Women’s Grand Prix-2022 (WGP) series for Kazakhstan. According to the tournament’s official regulations and worldwide rankings, another Kazakhstani chess player, national team head Zhanssaya Abdumalik, has also been added to the roster of players.
