Golden Boy Fight Night Weigh-in

Floyd “Kid Austin” Austin Jr. Schofield and Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas make weight.

On October 20, Golden Boy Fight Night will return to the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California, for the final event that will take place in 2022.

Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield, an unbeaten lightweight prospect from Austin, Texas, will face off against Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas, a boxer from Mexico, in the main event, which Golden Boy Promotions will host. “Bad Boy” Rosas has never been defeated in his professional career.

The fight on Thursday will be the first time that Schofield, who is 20 years old and has a record of 11-0 with 9 knockouts, will compete under the Golden Boy banner. Schofield is prepared to put on a show against a formidable opponent who will come forward and make it a fight.

Schofield has received praise from boxing greats Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya, both of whom are in the Hall of Fame, and both of these individuals see potential in Schofield and anticipate great things to come from their newest signee.

The young Schofield is also confident in his abilities, as evidenced by the fact that he has already challenged the rugged former lightweight title contender Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz to a fight in the not-too-distant future.

Anabel Ortiz of Mexico, who has a record of 32-5 with 4 knockouts, will face Maria Santizo of Guatemala, who has a record of 10-1 with 6 knockouts, in the 8-round women’s light flyweight bout that will serve as the co-main event.

The remaining bouts on the card feature Golden Boy Stable’s rising stars and unbeaten prospects who are still in their early careers. Golden Boy Promotions is in charge of marketing for this event, which can be watched live on DAZN.

Golden Boy Fight Night Preview

Schofield gave the nickname “Kid Austin” because of his success in amateur competitions while living in Texas. Schofield is originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, but he currently resides in Austin, Texas. He is the newest addition to the roster of fighters whose fathers serve as their coaches. In addition to his responsibilities as head coach, Floyd Sr. is charged with the difficult job of advising his son on meaningful life and professional choices. While Schofield was getting some professional fights under his belt, one of those tough career decisions presented itself, like which promotional company he would sign under.
