The Zozo Championship is taking place this week in Japan, marking the return of the PGA Tour to the country.
Golf fans have been treated to various exciting late-tournament dramas through the first three tournaments of the 2022-2023 PGA Tour season. In the first month of competition, Max Homa and Tom Kim both won dramatically on the 72nd hole, and Mackenzie Hughes prevailed in a playoff to take the title. This week, the 2022 Zozo Championship will be held in Chiba, Japan, the same place in Japan where a local boy and former champion Hideki Matsuyama won the title the previous year.

Zozo Championship Picks
Matsuyama will attempt to defend the title he won at the Zozo Championship successfully. Although he is not the golfer currently in the lead, Matsuyama is featured near the top of the odds board. That distinction belongs to Xander Schauffele, who won the Olympic gold medal two summers ago and just finished a strong performance at the Presidents Cup. He is now competing in the United States, the country in which he won the Olympic gold medal.
The winner of the Masters had a one-shot lead going into the final round at Narashino Country Club, but he was trailing Tringale with eight holes to play. However, the Masters’ winner produced a stellar finish, which allowed him to win his seventh PGA Tour title.
The Zozo Championship has a limited field but does not use a cut, so in addition to Matsuyama and Schauffele, there are only 76 other players competing.
