The UCL matchday 4 2022/23 has begun, with AC Milan and Chelsea facing off in the night’s marquee matchup on Tuesday, while Barcelona will play Inter Milan at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
Aside from them, PSG will attempt to dominate Benfica Lisbon after being thwarted to a 1-1 draw in the Matchday 3 first leg on Tuesday night, while Dortmund will welcome Sevilla at Signal Iduna Park. Real Madrid, the defending champions, will play Shakhtar Donetsk on the road in Group F, while Celtic will host RB Leipzig.

Copenhagen against Man City (18:45 CET)
“He’s just ridiculous. The actions he has taken since signing are utterly inhuman. “Jack Grealish remarked this about Erling Haaland following his two-goal performance in City’s 5-0 victory over the Danish team last week. The Norwegian scorer was even substituted at halftime to keep him fresh for this latest assignment, which is concerning given that Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup stated his squad was “just overrun” in the first matchup.

Maccabi Haifa vs Juventus (18:45)
The joy was apparent in Turin on Matchday 3 when Juventus defeated Maccabi Haifa to snap their Group H winless streak. However, the Bianconeri are acutely aware they need another victory as they are still four points behind Paris and Benfica. The return to fitness and form of Angel Di Mara and two-goal Adrien Rabiot couldn’t have come at a better moment for Massimiliano Allegri, who was effusive in his appreciation of the pair following that 3-1 victory: “This was Di Mara’s first game in a long time; he is an exceptional player. Rabiot is a player that has grown significantly, matured physically, and still has some opportunity for growth.”

Dinamo Zagreb against Salzburg (21:00)
In Group E, bottom versus top, only two points separate these teams as Noah Okafor’s match-winning goal sent Salzburg to the top on Matchday 3. Comparable to the section as a whole, there was little to choose between the teams in that match. Dinamo defender Dino Peri is optimistic about his team’s chances in this match and qualifying: “Two more matches remain at Stadion Maksimir. We feel quite comfortable at home; we’ve already defeated some formidable opponents there, and I expect to do so again.”

AC Milan against Chelsea (21:00)
The Blues’ 3-0 victory over Milan at Stamford Bridge provided Graham Potter with encouraging indicators. “You saw the hunger of the players; we gained control and posed a threat,” he stated following that triumph. “The lads have been really open, accountable, and trustworthy. They have been fantastic to work with.” Milan needs a comparable improvement to turn the tables here, as Milan player Ismal Bennacer stated following the first match: “It is painful to lose this manner. In the Champions League, we must improve our performance. We will replay the game and correct our errors.”

Celtic are not having an easy time in this season’s group stage, with just one point after three games, with a 3-1 loss at Leipzig last time out dropping them to the bottom of Group F. An injury to team captain Callum McGregor added to coach Ange Postecoglou’s frustration with his team’s “at times negative” performance. As a result of goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi’s torn anterior cruciate ligament, Leipzig’s morale is stronger, but they will be without a key player.

Dortmund vs Sevilla (21:00)
Dortmund can approach their rematch with Sevilla with optimism, knowing that with the perfect combination of outcomes, they may secure a spot in the knockout round by the end of the night. Edin Terzi will be hoping that his team’s 4-1 victory in Seville on Matchday 3 marks the end of a recent rough patch, with the coach noting: “We found another gear and were able to tighten things up at the back.” Sevilla will attempt a similar feat in their first game following Julen Lopetegui’s long-anticipated exit.

Atlético Madrid against Club Brugge (18:45)
Club Brugge’s magical start in Group B was expected to end against Atlético. Still, Carl Hoefkens’ team produced another outstanding performance, Atlético struck the crossbar in the 2-0 loss and sit in last place in the group as the return match approaches, but Diego Simeone is not conceding defeat, stating: “We are not giving up the fight. We have three matches remaining to rectify the situation.”

Despite scoring seven goals in those contests, Club Brugge is winless in their last four matches in Madrid (three losses to Atlético Madrid and a draw against Real Madrid).
Rangers vs Liverpool (21:00)
Allan McGregor stole some of the spotlights at Anfield, keeping the Matchday 3 scoreline reasonable as Jürgen Klopp’s squad attempted to loosen up and put its early-season struggles behind it. Rangers manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, stated, “After our first three [group stage] games, our progression has been positive.” Yet, the team has failed to score or earn a point in Group A. Jordan Henderson, a midfielder for Liverpool, is aware that the Light Blues are not a spent force: “Another challenging test awaits us… at Ibrox. That will be a challenging game for us.”

Leverkusen vs Porto (21:00)
Xabi Alonso will capitalize on predecessor Gerardo Seoane’s optimistic assessment of Leverkusen’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Porto on Matchday 3, in which he stated, “We are simply unhappy in the result.” Patrik Schick had a penalty kick saved in Portugal, but Leverkusen is convinced they can get a better result in the rematch. However, Wendell, a defender for Porto, is as upbeat: “If we retain the same mentality, the same drive to battle, we will rarely lose against any team.”

Barcelona against Inter (21:00)
Barcelona’s coach, Xavi Hernández, admits that his team’s plight is not happy after three matchdays and three points. “We should have performed better [in the 1-0 loss against Inter]. This loss places us in a precarious position.” Even without Marcelo Brozovi and Romelu Lukaku, Simone Inzaghi’s Inter won despite poor performances. Xavi added, “In the Champions League, we still have three finals to play, and we will treat them accordingly.”

Plzeň against Bayern (21:00)
Plzen manager Michal Blek shrugged after his team’s 5-0 defeat in Munich on Matchday 3. “Bayern showed their quality, which was beyond our reach,” Six points ahead of third-place Barcelona, Bayern would advance to the round of sixteen with another victory.

Tottenham against Frankfurt (21:00)
Last time out, a 0-0 draw in Germany was a fair result, with Frankfurt defender Makoto Hasebe receiving numerous accolades for helping to contain Harry Kane. This may be more difficult at White Hart Lane, but Spurs will be aware of the Europa League champions’ strengths. Clément Lenglet, a French defender, stated UEFA.com, “They are difficult to play against and very effective on the counter” Oliver Glasner, the manager of Eintracht, may have new ideas for the return leg. There are a few things I observed, which I relayed to our analyst.

Sporting CP vs Marseille (21:00)
Sporting CP took the lead in the first minute of their Matchday 3 encounter in France. Still, their evening quickly unraveled, with Alexis Sánchez’s adventurous equalizer helping Marseille to a 4-1 victory (aided by the dismissal of Sporting’s goalkeeper Antonio Adán). “We’ll turn things around,” said coach Rben Amorim, whose team is currently in first place in Group D with six points. Amine Harit, a midfielder for OM, is ecstatic with the team’s first points. He stated, “We anticipate a challenging game in Lisbon.” “We anticipate picking up where we left off.”
