US Open 2022 is currently underway. Keep readers updated on who is winning, losing, and the latest highlights from the tournament. Additionally, give your prediction on who will win the Grand Slam title this year.
As we head into the final days of the tournament, there are still many questions to be answered. Who will win the Grand Slam title? Will Rafael Nadal be able to win his record-tying 20th major? Or will someone else take home the trophy?
The US Open is one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. The competition is held every year, and this year’s event was no exception. Here are some of the highlights from the US Open 2022 tournament:
Novak Djokovic won his fourth consecutive US Open title, beating Roger Federer in the final. This was Djokovic’s 16th Grand Slam title, tying him with Rafael Nadal for second-most all-time.
Serena Williams made it to the final but lost to Bianca Andreescu. This was Andreescu’s first Grand Slam title.
In the women’s doubles competition, Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza won their third consecutive US Open championship.
The junior boys’ singles competition was won by Cori Gauff, who at 15 years old is the youngest ever winner of a Grand Slam singles title.
US Open 2022 odds, picks, predictions:
There will be a lot of upsets in the early rounds, as there always are at Grand Slam events. However, some of the top seeds should still make it deep into the tournament. On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are always tough to beat, but there are other players like Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas who could make a run at the title. In the women’s draw, Serena Williams is always the favorite, but she will have to contend with players like Naomi Osaka and Simona Halep.
The finals of the US Open should be very exciting. On the men’s side, Djokovic and Nadal could meet in another classic match, but Zverev or Tsitsipas could also make it to the final. On the women’s side, Williams could meet Osaka or Halep in a repeat of last year’s US Open final. Whoever makes it to the finals, it should be a great match to watch.
On Monday (11 a.m. ET), the US Open 2022 begins at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. Rafael Nadal is the focus of interest on the men’s side, as he seeks his 23rd grand slam championship and fifth victory at the event. Top-ranked Daniil Medvedev is also competing, seeking to defend his 2021 championship. The field is rich and talented, despite the absence of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
In the most recent 2022 U.S. Open men’s singles odds at Caesars Sportsbook, Medvedev is the favorite at +225 (risk $100 to win $225). Nadal is a +400 favorite to win another title. Carlos Alcaraz is classified at +500, Nick Kyrgios is at +900, and Stefanos Tsitsipas is at +1400. Calvert was the handicapper that predicted Stan Wawrinka to win the 2014 Australian Open at 60-1, the last Australian title not won by Djokovic or Federer. Calvert defeated Dominic Thiem by a tremendous score of 80-1 in Indian Wells in 2019.
Calvert has now examined the most recent US Open 2022 odds and provided his preferred best bets to win it all.
For a long period, three names ruled the men’s tennis world: Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal. While Djokovic and Federer are not available for the 2022 U.S. Open, Nadal is the largest and most appealing name before the tournament begins. Nadal is a 22-time grand slam champion and No. 1 all-time, with four U.S. Open victories and two grand tournament titles this year.
As a result, many people will hurry to bet on him in the future, but Calvert is fading Nadal at his present price. Nadal’s injury issues are concerning, as he has only played one match since withdrawing from Wimbledon with an abdominal injury. He lost to Borna Coric after a six-week layoff, and Nadal also has a nagging knee injury that could pose issues in New York.
Nadal may possibly face difficult opponents such as Alcatraz or Medvedev later in the event, making his pricing less appealing at this early point. You can see who to support right here.
