The Players Championship snooker kicks off with many top stars, including the leader of the global rankings for the past year, Mark Allen.
Allen has had an outstanding start to the 2022–2023 season, which has earned him the top seed for the competition and gives him the appearance of being the player to defeat in Wolverhampton.
The best 16 players on the one-year list are going to be competing against each other early in the week. Mark Selby, Kyren Wilson, and Shaun Murphy are also going to be participating in these matches.
Both the defending champion, Neil Robertson and Ronnie O’Sullivan, were eliminated in the first round, but the recently crowned champion of the Welsh Open, Robert Milkins, is feeling confident heading into this competition.

Prize money for Players Championship snooker
The person who comes in first place at the Players Championship will be awarded a check for £125,000, while the person who comes in second place will receive £50,000, and the semi-finalists will each receive £30,000.
Those who make it to the quarterfinals will each receive £15,000, and even those who are eliminated in the first round will walk away with $10,000.
Who is playing and how did they qualify for Players Championship snooker
The one-year ranking list up to and including the 2023 Welsh Open was used to determine the seedings for the tournament. The best 16 players on the list were awarded a spot in the tournament.
Neil Robertson, the defending champion, has a ranking of 20, and as a result, he did not compete.

Format of Players Championship snooker
In the Players Championship, each match is played to a best-of-11-frames (first-to-six) conclusion, with the exception of the final, which is played to a best-of-19-frames conclusion. (first to 10). This is the timetable. Snooker’s Players Championship is being held.
The round of the final 16 events takes place over the course of three consecutive days, beginning on Monday, February 20, and continuing through the afternoon session on Wednesday, February 22.
Beginning with the evening session on Wednesday, February 22, and continuing through the afternoon session on Friday, February 24, the quarter-finals will be contested over the course of four sessions.
On Friday, February 24, the first of the two semifinals will begin at 7 o’clock in the evening, and the second will commence at the same time the following day, Saturday, February 25.
On Sunday, February 26, there will be two separate segments for the final that will take place.

Who is the favourite to win the Players Championship snooker
Mark Allen, who was considered to be the early favourite, was eliminated in the first round by Joe O’Connor with a score of 6-3.
The current chances for the tournament have Judd Trump as the favourite at 3/1, followed by Shaun Murphy at 5/1, Kyren Wilson at 7/1, and Ding Junhui at 9/1.
