Which TV stations will WorldSBK be broadcasting on this year?
TV coverage will vary depending on the race, but live coverage will be shown on Eurosport, which has now secured TV rights until 2025. Highlight coverage has yet to be agreed upon, but it is expected that ITV will secure it and show it on the ITV4 channel during the 2021 season.
We’ll keep updating this page with all the TV schedules for each round, so check back frequently to ensure you don’t miss any of the action.
ITV4 is available on Freeview channels 25 and 60 (+1), Virgin Media channels 118 (SD), 175 (+1), and 178 (HD), Virgin Media Ireland channel 132, Freesat channels 117 and 118 (+1), and Sky channels 120 (HD), 220 (+1), and 818 (SD). It is also available on the ITV Hub (UK only).
What is new in WorldSBK 2022?
The powers-that-be traditionally use the winter break to gather their thoughts and review the rules for the upcoming racing season. Only minor changes to the rule book have been made for the 2022 season, most of which will be invisible to the casual observer (changes to the appeals process, for example). Still, a couple may become apparent during the year:
- Restarted Superpole races must run at least 8 laps (previously 5 laps).
- Protests, appeals, and decisions can now be displayed on timing screens and considered official (previously, they had to be displayed on official communications boards).
- Riders taken to the Medical Centre will now have their crash helmets inspected. The helmet may be subjected to further inspection if the rider has a loss of consciousness, concussion, or another head injury.
We’ll update this page with any other changes as they happen, with a further meeting to agree on technical and homologation rule changes.

According to David Bennett, General Manager of Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Grand Ridge Brewery has already built a loyal following among World Superbike fans but has now stepped up to the central event sponsor role.
“Grand Ridge Brewery has been our WorldSBK event craft beer supply rights partner in 2019 and 2020, supplying craft beer and cider to both public and corporate areas, and has already built a loyal following from our World Superbike fans at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.” This collaboration will provide a fantastic opportunity to expand our craft beer and cider offerings, particularly in our new Holeshot Bar offering that overlooks Doohan Corner, providing our spectators with the best views and beers to enhance their experience at the 2022 event.”
Grand Ridge Brewery sees WorldSBK as the ideal platform for domestic and international brand promotion, with plenty of shared passion for riders between racing and brews.
Eric Walters, owner and managing director of Grand Ridge Brewery, is excited to be teaming up with WorldSBK at Phillip Island after a prior successful engagement.
Grand Ridge Brewery was Australia’s first and most well-known craft brewery. The 100% Australian and family-owned brewery is housed in an old butter factory in Mirboo North, a small community in the picturesque Victorian Strzelecki Ranges.
Grand Ridge Brewery loves pure products with no added chemicals or preservatives. It has risen to the top of the list for high-quality beers, earning over 250 medals for its pure beers and becoming one of the world’s most honoured brewers.
According to David Bennett, General Manager of Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Grand Ridge Brewery has already created a loyal following among World Superbike fans.
“In both 2019 and 2020, Grand Ridge Brewery has been our craft beer supply rights partner of WorldSBK events, offering craft beer and cider to both public and corporate areas, and has already created a loyal following from our World Superbike fans at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.”
Grand Ridge Brewery sees WorldSBK as the ideal platform for promoting its brand both domestically and globally, with a customer demographic that is closely aligned.
“This collaboration will provide a tremendous chance to extend our choice of craft beer and cider on sale, particularly in our new Holeshot Bar offering that overlooks Doohan Corner – giving our spectators the best views and drinks to heighten their experience at the 2022 event,” Mr Bennett added.
Eric Walters, owner and managing director of Grand Ridge Brewery, is excited to be teaming up with WorldSBK at Phillip Island after a prior successful engagement.
“What a fantastic event!” We are thrilled to be a significant sponsor after many years of supporting the track with beer and cider, and we can’t wait to see you there! We’re looking forward to a high-octane racing week and improving the consumer experience on the track and in the campgrounds. Stay tuned, and make sure to stock up on Grand Ridge.”
“This sponsorship is in remembrance of Dave Breheny, our head brewer and keen cycling lover, and we look forward to doing him proud,” Eric Walters stated.
“As WorldSBK comes to Phillip Island, we are happy to see Grand Ridge Brewery, an existing event partner, take on the role of event principal sponsor. The Grand Ridge Brewery Australian Round, as the season finale, will present an excellent opportunity to support the brand’s goals for growth both locally and internationally “Francesco Valentino, Head of WorldSBK Commercial & Marketing Department, also commented.
The Grand Ridge Brewery Australian Round of the 2022 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is quickly approaching, and it promises to be a season-ending showdown in which we will officially crown the 2022 Superbike World Champion.
