Pakistan win vs India by 5 wickets in Asia cup super four 2022
A match that went down to the penultimate ball ended in Pakistan’s favor as they chased down a target of 182.
In the second of a maximum of three matches that could have been played between Pakistan and India in the 2022 Asia Cup, Pakistan was prosperous in pulling off an incredible chase to gain revenge on India.
India reached 181 for seven thanks to Virat Kohli’s 60 off 44 balls and two misfields from Fakhar Zaman in the last over.
As a result of India eliminating Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam and Fakhar before they could do too much damage, Pakistan spent a significant portion of the opening part of their chase in a decidedly disadvantaged position. However, a combination between Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 73 runs in only 41 balls, was enough to turn the game’s tide.
Then, when Arshdeep Singh dropped a dolly off of Asif Ali, Pakistan came dangerously close to winning the match. However, Arshdeep dismissed him with just two balls remaining, leaving Pakistan needing just two more runs to win the match. After that, Pakistan chased the ball aggressively and scored two runs off the next ball, which allowed them to win the match by five wickets.
The player of the match goes to Mohammad Nawaz for his all round performance.
