Defence is where the Seahawks shine!

On Monday, September 12th, a tense and dramatic game was played between the Seahawks and the Broncos. On Sunday, former quarterback Russell Wilson made his comeback to the field. The Seahawks beat the Broncos 17-16 thanks to the Broncos’ poor time management and the emergence of Seattle quarterback Geno Smith.

Denver was down to its final possession losing by one score, and Wilson attempted to repeat his miracle performance from Seattle. The Broncos drove down the field on their last drive, but a field goal attempt from 64 yards out was wide left. Even though Seattle failed to score in the second half, Smith’s two touchdowns were enough to secure the victory.

Smith completed 23 passes out of 28 attempts for 195 yards and no picks. As the tailback, Rashaad Penny led the team with 60 yards on 12 carries. The offense did what it needed to do to win, but the defense made several key stops inside the red zone to seal the deal. Jordyn Brooks had the most tackles (12), while Cody Barton spent the whole game in the defensive backfield. Barton led the team with two tackles for a loss and also had a sack.

Seattle won the takeaways by a score of 2-1 thanks to two red zone fumbles caused. Seattle’s drives were able to continue because of the offense’s effectiveness, especially on third down. They shot 6 for 11 overall in the game.

The Seahawks’ opponent on Sunday features a quarterback with comparable abilities to Wilson’s. Trey Lance, a quarterback for the 49ers, is able to evade defenders despite throwing off balance. Seattle’s head coach, Pete Carroll, is aware of this, and the team has prepared accordingly. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll still has some concerns about Lance leading up to Week 2’s matchup with the division rivals.

Carroll remarked in a press conference on Wednesday, “We understand this person and appreciate him at this time.” We all know how dangerous he can be, and his presence alone boosts the performance of many players. There’s no way around that, so we’ll just have to deal with it.”

Jamal Adams, a top safety for the Seahawks, suffered a season-ending injury against the Broncos and will need surgery. Two starters on defense, cornerback Artie Burns and defensive end Shelby Harris, sat out Thursday’s practice.

An introduction to Trey Lance in a wet and windy Chicago

There was a weather game that San Francisco had to play in, and it was one of the worst in a long time. The 49ers played Chicago despite heavy rain and floods at Solider Field. San Francisco prevailed 19-10 in a sloppy game, but they led the entire way. They were up 10-0 in the third quarter. Deebo Samuel’s 6-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the sole point of the game through the first half.

The 49ers didn’t get on the board until the second half when Robbie Gould kicked a field goal from 25 yards out. Those points, however, would prove to be San Francisco’s only points of the game, as they would go the rest of the last 23 minutes without scoring.

Trey Lance threw for 13 of 28 and 164 yards with one interception in his first career start. It’s tough to get a good sense of Lance and his abilities in this weather. An interception by Lance deep in his own territory in the fourth quarter was embarrassing. The Bears pounced on the opportunity, and five plays later, they were in the end zone, giving them a 9–0 advantage.

There are unquestionably still far too many messes for me to put right. But, gosh, I’m pumped up. In spite of the setback, I’m keeping my chin up. “I’m really looking forward to getting ready to go next week,” Lance told reporters after the loss.

The 49ers had 331 yards of total offense against the Bears’ 204. San Francisco had seven more minutes of possession time than their host team.

George Kittle has been resting a groin strain and did not participate in Thursday’s practice. He sat out of the match against Chicago. Due to a damaged MCL, starting running back, Elijah Mitch ell will be out for at least two months. In the interim, Jeff Willson Jr. will be filling in for Mitchell as a quarterback.
