Although it is still illegal in many states, BKFC 31 Denver Mike Richman vs Isaac Doolittle will open its first location in Colorado on October 15 inside the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield. This card features six UFC and Bellator fighters.
Chris Camozzi, Josh Copeland, Jake Lindsey, and Bubba McDaniel are four of them from the UFC. None of them were able to make a living there.
Two of the fighters, Mike Richman and Brandon Girtz, are Bellator veterans. Girtz competed in 16 Bellator fights, winning eight of them. Meanwhile, Richman was 7-5 in Bellator. Richman is not a newcomer to the BKFC.
BKFC 31 makes its Colorado debut on Saturday, October 15 at the 1STBank Center in Broomfield, with BKFC 31, headlined by a thrilling fight for the interim BKFC light heavyweight title between Mike “The Marine” Richman (3-0, 2 KOs) of Rosemount, Minnesota and Isaac “The Honey Badger” Doolittle (3-0, 1 KOs) of Junction City, Kansas.
He has previously fought three times and has won all of them. He is still undefeated in bare-knuckle rules.
Former UFC fighter Lindsey is another seasoned BKFC fighter on this list. After three fights, he left the UFC without a victory inside the cage.
However, the 36-year-old boxer currently has two victories and no losses under the BKFC promotion. He’ll be fighting alongside Bellator veteran Girtz.

BKFC 31 Denver Mike Richman vs Isaac Doolittle Preview:

Richman entered BKFC on April 30, 2021 with a first-round finish of Marcel Stamps in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was ranked No. 2 in the middleweight division and moved up one weight division for this bout. He then knocked out Dakota Cochrane (BKFC 21) in the second round on September 10, 2021, and Dave Rickels (BKFC 23) on April 8, 2022.
Doolittle, BKFC’s No. 3 ranked light heavyweight, returns to the ring after an exhilarating decision victory over top challenger Jared Warren on April 6, 2022 at BKFC 23. He also had impressive victories over Jay Jackson (BKFC Fight Night Wichita) on October 21, 2021 and Brandon Johnson (BKFC 13) on October 10, 2020.
In the welterweight class, Bellator veteran and local favorite Brandon Girtz will make his highly awaited BKFC debut against Manhattan, Kansas’ Jake Lindsey (2-0, 2 KOs). Girtz had a 16-10 MMA record, while Lindsey stopped Derrick Findley on April 8, 2022 at BKFC 23 and Eric Thompson on October 23, 2021 at BKFC Fight Night Wichita.
Chris Camozzi of Lakewood, Colorado and Bubba “The Menace” McDaniel of Muncie, Indiana will make their BKFC debuts in the cruiserweight class. Carmozzi had a 27-15 MMA record after fighting extensively in the UFC and PFL, while McDaniel has a 30-10 MMA record.
Denver native Josh “Cuddly Bear” Copeland makes his BKFC debut against Brazilian Levi “Pitbull” Costa in the heavyweight class (1-0, 1 KO). Copeland enters with an MMA record of 18-7-1, while Costa made his BKFC debut with a first-round finish of Joshua Sanchez at BKFC 25 on May 6, 2022.
Cory “Guns” Madden of Denver makes his BKFC debut in the welterweight division against Christian “The Terminator” Torres (1-2) of Johnson City, New York. As a professional boxer, Madden has a 6-1 record with five knockouts.
At BKFC 31, featherweights Andrew “The Golden Boy” Yates of Las Vegas will face Nolan McGlaughlin of Pueblo, Colorado. Yates has a 12-4 MMA record, while McGlaughlin has a 6-5 MMA record.
Danny “Country Strong” O’Connor of Monroe City, Missouri makes his BKFC debut in the lightweight class, taking on Van “Tactic” Vo (0-1) of Kettering, Ohio.
Additional fights on the undercard of BKFC 31 will be confirmed in the following days. In the battle game, there is no such thing as love lost. Fans, promoters, and even friends might have short memory. Unfortunately, fighters who train hard to keep in condition, fine-tune their skills, and maintain battle preparation are usually the ones who receive the short end of the stick.
Chris Camozzi, a UFC and GLORY Kickboxing veteran, was on a roll in 2021. The Coloradan had previously lost four fights in a row, including his final three in the UFC, but he returned to the win column in September 2019 with a powerful first-round submission of Tony Lopez. It was difficult to find fights in 2020 because to the COVID-19 shutdowns, but things improved when he was signed to the Professional Fighters League for the 2021 season.
Camozzi made his promotional debut against Emiliano Sordi, the 2019 PFL light heavyweight champion, and was defeated on the judges’ scorecards. But he came back with a victory over fellow UFC veteran Cezar Ferreira.
Ferreira, on the other hand, had won his first fight of the 2021 PFL season by first-round knockout, and because of the PFL points system, despite the fact that both men were 1-1 after the first round, Ferreira proceeded to the season’s playoff round, despite the fact that the American won that contest.
Camozzi had one more fight left in the season, against Cory Hendricks in August 2021. He finished the season with the greatest calendar-year record he’d had since 2012. Things were looking up as we approached 2022, but that didn’t last long.
“From the end of last season, PFL assured me that I was on the next season,” Camozzi told Combat Press. “They said, ‘You’re in.'” You know the drill. So I took some time off, then I started exercising and getting ready for the new season. I got a weird e-mail about a month before the season started saying,
‘You’re dismissed from your contract.’ There is no reason. There is nothing. There was no phone call. When I called them, they did not return my calls. They simply left it at that. Ray Sefo sent me an email and then never returned my call. Because I tried calling and texting him, but he never responded. ‘Can you at least give me a reason?’ I asked. Did something happen, for example? ‘What’s the story?’
Camozzi is not one of those fighters who waits for things to happen. He has previously operated businesses, has always coached athletes, and has many business enterprises running at any given moment. He has been fighting professionally since 2006 and is well-versed in the combat game. He is constantly prepared for any chance that may happen, and he ultimately learned that the BKFC 31 would be visiting his hometown of Denver, Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 15.
“I feel like I was kind of finding my stride as far as the best portion of my career after my performance in PFL,” Camozzi remarked. “There weren’t many choices available after leaving the PFL.
” From the first time I saw it, bare-knuckle boxing piqued my interest. ‘Man, that looks fantastic,’ I thought. It just sort of fell into place since they’re coming to Denver and now is the time to do it. I’m not required to travel. I can make a lot of money from tickets and sponsors here. And I get to battle at home for the first time in forever.”
“Man, I’ve been loving it,” Camozzi remarked. “I honestly believe that boosted my career. Because, you know, I used to win by beating up on men and wearing them down. Now I’m causing havoc.
He was able to simply improve a handful of things, such as adding more force to my punches and the way I move, so I’m actually very thrilled to do it. Because the gym is so strong on boxing, I’ve been doing a lot of boxing for a while.”
BKFC did not emerge from anything because there were no other possibilities. It was something that had always peaked his curiosity, and he was overjoyed that BKFC 31 had landed in his backyard.
