On Saturday, February 25, Bellator 291 will be broadcast live on Showtime from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. Unbeaten reigning welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov (26-0) of Irpin, Ukraine, and interim 170-pound king Logan Storley (14-1) of Roslyn, South Dakota, fight it out in the five-round main event. The two also square off again after “Dynamo” prevailed by a split decision in their first non-title battle in November 2020.

Tonight, Ukrainian fighter Yaroslav Amosov will face Logan Storley in his first defence of the Bellator lightweight championship. Amosov will compete for the first time this evening since winning the title in June 2021 by defeating Douglas Lima and heading back to Ukraine to protect his nation in the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Meanwhile, Storley has experienced a professional resurgence. Three years after falling to Amosov in their first meeting, the American has won three straight fights, including a decision victory over Michael “Venom” Page.

Bellator 291 Preview:

As top contenders for the Bellator welterweight title in 2020, Yaroslav Amosov and Logan Storley undoubtedly put on the fight of the night. Two years later, they rerun it, but this time the undisputed world championship is at risk.

Amosov (26-0) faces Storley in Bellator 291 on Saturday inside the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, as he attempts the first defence of his Bellator welterweight title. This is Amosov’s first battle since June 2021, when he deposed Douglas Lima. Last year, Amosov postponed his championship defence against Michael Page in order to protect his native Ukraine from the Russian invasion. In the conflict, Amosov fought alongside Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, Vasiliy Lomachenko, the previous lightweight boxing world champion, Wladimir Klitschko, and Vitali Klitschko. Amosov prepared for his Bellator comeback after his hometown of Irpin was freed. He did this by removing his Bellator welterweight title from his mother’s house.

I then realize why I’m battling after some reflection. It’s challenging for [Ukrainian troops]. Just preparation for me.

“Now that I know, it’s a little bit different. I used to be just a combatant and a sportsman. My residence was the prison. I now realize it’s just for athletics. It greatly motivates me, of course. I work out very intensely. However, I do realize that protecting your family comes first, you know? Your citizens
