Legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar made a surprising U-turn after initially criticising the choice to incorporate Washington Sundar rather than Kuldeep Yadav for the second Check match towards New Zealand on Thursday. Washington was added to the India squad after the loss within the first Check match in Bengaluru and his inclusion within the taking part in XI prompted Gavaskar to say that it was a ‘panic’ resolution. Nonetheless, the all-rounder produced a surprising efficiency and took seven wickets to place India in management. Even Gavaskar was impressed together with his efficiency and on commentary, the legend remarked – “What an impressed choice.
