COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West Convention issued a public reprimand to Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel on Sunday in response to his public criticism of recreation officers following the Cowboys’ recreation towards Utah State on Saturday.
Sawvel was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct within the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ 27-25 loss for arguing a cross interference name towards Wyett Ekeler. The mixed 30 yards in penalties moved Utah State into place to attain a landing.
Sawvel addressed the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty throughout his postgame information convention.
“… Yeah, I remorse that,” he stated, in line with the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. “I assumed it was a reasonably fast hair set off, too. I do not wish to say a complete lot else about that stuff, as a result of, to be sincere, proper now, I would say I am a horses— head coach, and I feel we have had some horses— officiating.”
The Cowboys are 1-7 in Sawvel’s first season.
