The best-hander opposes Gerrit Cole on Friday evening at Dodger Stadium in a matchup of space natives.

Flaherty is from close by Burbank and attended highschool at Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles. Cole is from Tustin in Orange County and pitched at UCLA.

Proper-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto — the $325 million rookie — will begin Recreation 2 on Saturday, Dodgers supervisor Dave Roberts mentioned Tuesday on a Zoom name with media.

Roberts mentioned there will probably be a bullpen sport throughout the best-of-seven collection.

Flaherty has began 3 times in these playoffs with a 7.04 ERA. He struggled in his most up-to-date begin towards the New York Mets in Recreation 5 of the NL Championship Sequence, giving up eight earned runs and 4 walks in three innings.

Flaherty had dominated in Recreation 1 towards the Mets, permitting two hits over seven innings.

He joined the Dodgers on the July commerce deadline from Detroit.
