The heavyweight bout will take place later tonight (Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022) at GLORY Collision 4 from inside the GelreDome in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and will be broadcast live on GLORY’s own fight website. The main event of the card will be Overeem vs. Hari.
This weekend’s combat sports calendar is light, but fight fans will get to watch MMA legend Alistair Overeem make his comeback to kickboxing in a trilogy showdown versus heavyweight knockout specialist Badr Hari.
This will be Overeem’s first kickboxing match since defeating Peter Aerts in 2010 under the K-1 brand. Overeem has been participating in MMA since then and has become one of the sport’s most successful heavyweights. From defeating Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut in 2011 to coming close to fighting Stipe Miocic for the UFC heavyweight title in 2016, “The Reem” has had a spectacular MMA career.
Overeem, who had a 12-8 record under the UFC banner, was let go by the organization after his loss against Alexander Volkov in early 2021. It has lead him back to the kickboxing ring, where he will face Hari, a former K-1 heavyweight champion and one of the best finishers GLORY has to offer.
