The 12 teams of two players that will compete in the 2022 QBE Shootout have been revealed. The 22nd annual event will be placed at the Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida from December 9-11.

Lexi Thompson, now ranked seventh in the world, and Nelly Korda, currently ranked fourth, will compete in the 34th annual Shootout. Since 2016, Thompson has made five appearances in the Shootout. In 2017, she tied for fourth place with Tony Finau. Soon, Korda will enter the spotlight for the first time.

Players like No. 16 Max Homa, No. 17 Cameron Young, No. 18 Billy Horschel, No. 23 Brian Harman, No. 27 Sepp Straka, No. 31 Kevin Kisner, No. 33 Corey Conners, No. 36 Tom Hoge, and No. 37 K.H. Lee will be competing this year.

Also playing in the 2022 Presidents Cup were Conners, Lee, Homa, Horschel, Kisner, and Young.

The winning pair from 2021, Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na will not be competing this year since the PGA Tour has banned them from LIV Golf tournaments.
This year’s QBE Shootout will follow the same general pattern as last year, with a scramble in the first round, an alternate shot format on Saturday, and a better ball in the final round on Sunday.

The majority of the proceeds from the event will once again go to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. More than $15 million has been donated thanks to the Shootout since its inception in 1989.

Preview of the QBE Shootout

It’s time for the QBE Shootout of 2022! On Friday, December 9, golfers will tee off for the first time in what will be a two-day event that begins on Wednesday. The Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida will host the unofficial PGA Tour tournament.

There will be a total of 12 teams playing for the QBE Shootout championship. For the first time ever, two of the biggest names in LPGA golf will be competing as well. Each of the winning teams will get $950,000 from the total prize pool of $3.8 million.

Changes to this week’s QBE Shootout hint at the tournament’s potential in the future. Greg Norman, the event’s creator and de facto host for many years, will be absent this year for the first time in a very long time. Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na, the winners from the previous season, won’t be competing either.
This year saw the addition of Kokrak and Na to LIV Golf, with Norman serving as the league’s CEO. Because of this, the PGA Tour, which is hosting the tournament, will not let the three of them participate.

Also, two of the 12 teams include LPGA stars Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson, which makes sense because a recent rumour indicated that future Shootouts might feature teams comprised of both PGA and LPGA Tour professionals. Beginning on Friday, they will compete in three rounds for the chance to win the trophy.

Tee timings for the 2022 QBE Shootout

Beginning this coming Friday, the 2022 QBE Shootout will include three days of intense action. It will finish on Sunday. Beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, participants in the scramble, modified alternative shot, and four-ball event—originally conceived by LIV CEO and LIV board member Greg Norman—will take their first swings.

Location of the QBE Shootout 2022

On Friday, two LPGA greats will tee off in the 2022 QBE Shootout for the first time. World No. 2 Nelly Korda and World No. 7 Lexi Thompson will be among the top names in the field at the 34th edition of the tournament. Each will partner with Denny McCarthy or Maverick McNealy to take on the rest of the field.
The top 12 players on the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Points List through the Tour Championship will compete in this tournament. There will be a number of notable people there, including Jason Day, Billy Horschel, Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, Sepp Straka, and Cameron Young. However, seasoned pros like Harris English and Matt Kuchar will be competing alongside the newcomers.
