United States Grand Prix Preview:

Formula One returns to the United States for the second time this season, this time for its most familiar race, which begins in Austin, Texas.

The United States Grand Prix, which has been held at the Circuit of the Americas since 2012, has a long and famous history on the F1 calendar, originally taking place in 1959.

The last two races here have been won by Max Verstappen, who won his third World Drivers’ Championship title in convincing form last time out in Qatar.

After winning the Sprint race on Saturday, he followed it up by winning the Qatar Grand Prix the next day, marking his 14th checkered flag finish of the season.

That puts him just one win away from tying his personal record for most races won in a single F1 season, which he set last season in overwhelming form.

Verstappen is unlikely to have it all his own way this time, as McLaren continues to cut the performance gap with Red Bull. The British constructors have had a lot of success recently, culminating in Oscar Piastri winning the Sprint race in Qatar two weeks ago – his first F1 triumph.

Teammate Lando Norris has also impressed recently, landing on the podium in the previous three races, highlighting their determination to win a Grand Prix before the season concludes.
