Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo Preview:

An exciting fight week has arrived. The sporting world will come on Las Vegas this week for a never-before-seen showdown inside the T-Mobile Arena. Canelo Alvarez defends his undisputed super middleweight title one more, but it’s the opponent who presents a one-of-a-kind headlining chance. In the first four-belt versus. four-belt fight on the men’s side, the decorated Mexican champion will face undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo.

Charlo established himself as the undisputed 154-pound champion with a TKO over Brian Castano in May 2022. The fight was a rematch of their 2021 meeting, which ended in a disputed draw that many felt Castano deserved to win. Since losing a decision to Tony Harrison in 2019, Charlo has gone unbeaten in his previous five fights.

“I’m a fighter. I did what I needed to do, and now we’re here. Canelo has never faced a fighter of my calibre. He’s fought some great fighters, but there’s something I bring to the table that’s unlike anyone he’s seen before,” Charlo stated at the last news conference.

“I challenge boxing science.” I’m one of the younger generation of fighters, and I’ve been fighting my entire life. Many people cannot compare to what I’ve been through in life. I earned my place, and now it’s up to me to prove it.”

Meanwhile, Alvarez has left a lot to be desired in his last two fights, failing to score stoppages against Gennady Golovkin and John Ryder. After 63 professional fights, many are questioning if the Mexican superstar has passed his peak.

“Just make sure you watch because it’s going to be a great fight.” I’m not sure what animal I should be, but I am that animal. On September 30th, tune in. “Believe me, it’s going to be great,” Alvarez added. “I never pass up a warrior. I know what he’s going to bring, and I’m prepared. I’ve fought alongside a variety of fighters. He’s never faced a fight like this before. You will witness and learn.
