As the host nation, Poland automatically qualified for the tournament. The other 31 teams will be eligible through their respective continental confederations:

Africa (3): Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia

Asia (5): Australia, China, Iran, Japan, South Korea

Europe (14): Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia

North America (2): Canada, United States

Oceania (1): New Zealand

South America (4): Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Uruguay

The draw will be held on 15 April 2022 at the Polsat Sport studios in Warsaw, Poland. The 32 teams will be drawn into eight groups of four. The groups will be announced following the conclusion of the draw.

This will be the first time the Men’s World Championship has been held in Poland since 2006 when they hosted the Women’s World Championship.
