The unique and dynamic format of the GCL allows, for the first time in the history of the competition, athletes of different nationalities to compete for side by side in teams. It offers breathtaking spectacle, breathtaking competition, and teamwork.
The home team Prague Lions will not be missing in the O2 arena. This season they are one of the best teams in the whole series and even won twice. The team’s mainstays, Pieter Devos, Niels Bruynseels, and Anna Kellner, will not be on the court. The Czech colors in the five-star competition will be represented by Olympians Vladimír Tretera, Aleš Papoušek, or Aleš Opatrný. The latter even dominated one of the competitions in 2021. Will the home riders do something similar this year?
The Gala show will once again offer, in addition to top sport, a unique accompanying program designed not only for all horse admirers. For the first time in the O2 arena, the famous Lorenzo will perform, he controls his herd of horses standing up from their backs and communicates with them only through invisible gestures, gentle touches with a tunic, or holding several reins in his hands. There will also be a spectacular artistic show, pony races, and many other performances. There is something for everyone.
Tickets for the gala show are on sale at Ticketmaster and Ticketportal. “Since the first edition of the Prague Playoffs in 2018, we have been trying to make this feast of park sport available to as many fans as possible, which is why the cheapest tickets start at CZK 290,” says Jan Andrlík, chairman of the Prague Playoffs organizing committee.
Christian Kukuk will present at the November GC Prague Playoffs in the Super Grand Prix. He had never competed in it before, but this year he worked hard to qualify for it. He was among the most active participants in the Longines Global Champions Tour series.
Thirty-two-year-old German representative Christian Kukuk completed nine Grands Prix in the 2022 season as part of the Longines Global Champions Tour series. He was present at the Grand Prix in Doha, Miami Beach, Mexico City, Madrid, St. Tropez, Cannes, Paris, London, and Rome.
Only the last named round was the one in which he managed to win in the saddle of a Belgian stallion called Mumbai. Kukuk will enter the Prague Super Grand Prix, which is open only to Grand Prix winners or so-called lucky losers, for the first time in his sports career.
The qualified participants of the Super Grand Prix LGCT 2022 are Ludger Beerbaum, Katrin Eckermann, Denis Lynch, Sanne Thijssen, Malin Barnyard-Johnsson, Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser, Henrik von Eckermann, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli, Max Kühner, Pieter Devos, Michael Pender, Christian Kukuk, McLain Ward and Harrie Smolders.
The gala show of the world parkour Global Champions Prague Playoffs takes place in the O2 Arena in Liben from 17 to 20 November. In addition to the Super above Grand Prix LGCT on Saturday, the program’s highlights will include the Super Cup GCL. The best four teams from a total of sixteen are guaranteed direct progress from the regular part of the series to Friday’s semi-finals of the team competition. The remaining twelve must pass through the Thursday quarter-finals, and only six teams will make it to Sunday’s final.
Part of the event is also an accompanying horse show designed for families with children and all horse lovers, not just show jumping ones. The organizers from the Czech Equestrian Team invited a world-class star to Prague this year, Lorenzo – also nicknamed the Flying Frenchman. Indeed, he often literally flies on the backs of his horses. He will perform in the O2 arena during each of the competition days.
