KRAKEN vs. Azizoun in the main event
Sentes had a shaky start to his professional career, but he appears to have found his stride as he seeks his first three-fight winning streak on Sunday night. Perez looks to rebound from a split decision loss against Luis Fernando Chavez in his Combate debut.
The main bout on Sunday will pit young Mexican striking prospect, Ismael Zamora, against Anas Azizoun, a former 19-1-1 French kickboxer. “KRAKEN” is capable of finishing the fight from a variety of situations and enters Sunday’s special event on a roll for Combate. The 22-year-old has won four straight fights, all by knockout in the first two rounds. Three of those finishes were knockouts or TKOs, but one was by armbar, which could reflect his path of least resistance.
Azizoun, a 1-0 professional in MMA, won his pro debut by submission over Dalibor Bogdanov at Hard Fighting Championship 20. Sunday will be a significant step up in competition for the Frenchman. It will, however, provide an opportunity for the Frenchman to make an impression on a North American audience. A convincing victory for either fighter should place them on Combate bantamweight champion David Martinez’s radar. Martinez won the vacant title in an entertaining fight earlier this month against Axel Osuna.
Zamora (5-1) is a good prospect who can finish about anyplace. His five professional victories have all come in the first two rounds. On his resume, he has knockouts, one from a crucifix position, and an armbar. Zamora should rely on his grappling abilities against Azizoun. The seasoned kickboxer is 1-0 as a mixed martial artist but has a 19-1-1 kickboxing record.

The remainder of the card
In the co-main event of Sunday’s Combate program, Fabia Sintes will face Enzo Perez in another important bantamweight bout for the company. Perez, who trains in Las Vegas, will look to rebound from a close split decision loss to Luis Fernando Chavez in his promotional debut. Meanwhile, Sintes will attempt to keep the good times rolling as he seeks his third consecutive victory following a 1-2 start to his career.
In the featherweight division, American Landry Ward (6-1) will face Italian Gianluca Rocca (6-2) on Sunday’s event. The bout will be Rocca’s first comeback to Combate since losing a decision to Venator FC in his native Italy. In addition, Roger Blanque will face Carlos Mascorro at 125 pounds, while Claudia Villalobos will face Andreia Filipa Pinto Da Conceicao in both women’s MMA debuts. A post-lim bout at women’s flyweight will also take place on Sunday, between Melissa Amaya and Alitzel Mariscal.
