Michael Conlan vs Karim Guerfi Fight Card Preview:

Conlan (17-1) is coming off a convincing 10-round unanimous decision victory over former three-time world championship challenger Miguel Marriaga. The former amateur standout scored three knockdowns and used his quick feet and quick hitting to confuse his opponent from start to finish.

That victory came on the heels of a contender for Fight of the Year against Leigh Wood in March. Conlan got off to a fast start, crushing Wood at the end of the first round. However, the brave Englishman fought his way back into the fight and won in a thrilling 12th round stoppage.

Despite that setback, Conlan is still motivated to win a global title, but he must first defeat Guerfi. Guerfi (31-6, 9 KOs) created a name for himself in February when he nearly knocked out Jordan Gill before being knocked out himself.

Conlan, 31, exudes confidence while yet remaining respectful.

“I’m feeling fine; the weight is spot on, and training has been fantastic,” the Belfast star told Boxing Social recently. “[Guerfi] is a thorn in everyone’s side. In several fights, he has gone in as the underdog and pulled off the upset.
