Dylan Price vs Jobert Alvarez Preview:
Dylan Price (15-0) is placing the finishing touches on his training camp in preparation for his ring return on February 18th. The battle will take place at the Llevate Event Center in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Jobert Alvarez (20-4-2) will face him in the ring, and he has only been halted once in his professional career. Price intends to more than double that amount.
“Yes, we’re up against a 20-4 fighter. He’s a Filipino and a strong fighter. He went the distance with Juan Estrada, faced two world winners, and was only stopped once. “I’m hoping to do it too,” Price told Hustleboss.com.
The 24-year-old Philadelphia native is in Las Vegas for his training camp and, to his surprise, has added future Hall of Famer Nonito Donaire to his squad.
“I’m just preparing to battle on February 18th. I’m just working diligently in the gym. “I came out here to Vegas three weeks ago to consult with Nonito and go over the game plan again,” Price explained.
“When we met Nonito at the WBO Convention, my father began talking to him. And we just kind of clicked from there, like we were conversing for the first time. He and my father who was staying swapped phone numbers and other information. It’s set in stone. “I’m excited to work with Nonito and then learn new things from him.”
Price believes that defeating Alvarez will place him on the fast track to a title shot. This will be his third battle, which will last ten rounds.
Price has sparred with many top fighters in the past, including unified super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton, to help prepare him for the elite of the bantamweight class.
“It was an excellent effort. Scooter always provided me with excellent work and sound advice. He’s always been one of those guys who just wants to see me succeed. Andre Ward, Stephen Fulton, Lamont Roach, Nonito Donaire. “I have a lot of love and respect for those guys because they offer me so many pointers and things like that on how to develop as a fighter,” Price said.
The fight program is available for purchase on pay-per-view at www.profetsplus.com. Price expects to return to action in the summer if everything goes as planned.
