Angel Fierro vs Eduardo Estela Fight Preview

On Saturday, March 4, Matchroom Boxing will be returning to Mexico for the latest instalment of their popular fight night series. The event will take place at the Polideportivo Arena in Culiacan, Mexico, and will be broadcast live exclusively on DAZN. The main event will feature Angel Fierro fighting Eduardo Estela.

In what looks to be an action-packed main event, WBO NABO lightweight champion Fierro (20-1-2, 16 KOs) will defend his title against Uruguay’s Estela (14-1, 9 KOs), who has never been defeated in his career. The very dangerous Estela, who is coming off a career-best win in November over previously unbeaten Ruben Torres, is the opponent that Fierro must first get past in order to have a shot at the coveted world title in 2023.

Fierro is currently ranked #5 by the WBO in the welterweight division. Estela, who is promoted by former boxing great Marcos Maidana, who will be present at the fight night, has one defeat to his name as a professional boxer, which came in 2019 against rising Mexican powerhouse Mauricio Lara. Maidana will be in attendance at the fight.

On March 4, Angel Fierro, who has a record of 20-1-2 with 16 knockouts, and Eduardo Estela, who has a record of 14-1 with nine knockouts, will square off in the main event at Polideportivo. The NABO lightweight champion from Tijuana will be defending his title against an opponent originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, in this bout. Ten rounds are scheduled to be fought in the championship match. Sunday, March 5 is the day that the fight card will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom and Australia.

The fight between Eduardo Nunez and Rodolfo Bustamante will take place over ten rounds in the super featherweight division. This bout will serve as the co-main event. KO merchant ‘Sugar’ Nunez (23-1, 23 KOs) has won all of his bouts inside the distance, and the 25-year-old enters the bout on the back of a tenth-round stoppage win in Culiacan in September, which was his only fight of 2022. This will be the first fight for ‘Sugar’ Nunez in 2023.

The Los Mochis man will be eager to keep his winning streak going on March 4, but he will be up against the tough competition in the form of Bustamante, who has an impressive record of 18-1-1 with 11 knockouts and will be fighting on his home turf for the first time since 2023.
