About The World Athletics Diamond League 2022
World champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (100 m), Faith Kipyegon (1500 m), and Noah Lyles (200 m) are either the second- or third-fastest in history in their events, are having arguably the best seasons of their careers, and could get closer to a world record.
Mondo Duplantis (pole vault), Ryan Crouser (shot put), Yulimar Rojas (triple jump), and Tobi Amusan (100m hurdles) could improve their own world records. Shericka Jackson, who won 100-meter silver and 200-meter gold at July’s world championships, is entered to race both events over a 90-minute span on Thursday.
All of the athletes above have byes into next summer’s world championships in Budapest as reigning world champions. Winners of the Diamond League Finals also get a bye into the Worlds, as long as they are not from the same country as the reigning world champions.
