The first leg of the UEFA Champions League between PSG vs Juventus will take place on Tuesday, September 6th at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Both teams have a lot of star power and will be looking to reach the final of the Champions League.
PSG vs Juventus Preview:
One of the major matches on the first Champions League group stage schedule sets European powers PSG and Juventus against each other, with the first encounter taking place on Tuesday at Parc des Princes.
It’s the start of Group H action, sometimes known as the “Angel Di Maria group,” in which the Juventus winger will face former clubs PSG and Benfica.
The game will be the first true litmus test for new PSG boss Christophe Galtier, who took over the Parisian soap opera in the summer. Galtier, who has dominated Ligue 1 play amid locker room turmoil, must now traverse the Champions League knowing that his employers expect him to lift a trophy at the conclusion of the season.
For the entirety of the Qatari ownership era, PSG has failed to win the Champions League. In 2020, the club reached the finals, only to be defeated by Bayern Munich. Since 2012, they’ve only reached the semifinals once, four times in the Round of 16, and four times in the quarterfinals.
Juventus yearns for European glory as well, having failed to advance past the semifinals since losing in the championships to Real Madrid in 2017. Juventus has lost five consecutive finals since lifting Europe’s greatest prize in 1996, and has been in the forefront of Italy’s difficulties in the Champions League over the last decade.
Juventus, on the other hand, has not appeared in the final for the past five years. Massimiliano Allegri, the club’s manager in 2016-17, is back in charge. Last year, however, the team was ousted in a stunning defeat to Villarreal.
The Old Lady of Turin will aim to improve its fortunes this time, beginning its campaign in Paris, France.

PSG vs. Juventus lineups and team news:
Through the first few weeks of Ligue 1 action, new PSG manager Christophe Galtier has kept a pretty similar starting eleven.
His three-headed monster in attack, which includes Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi, is all healthy and in top shape to begin the year.
The defensive line has been the only one to rotate. Captain Marquinhos has started every game, but the other players have rotated. Sergio Ramos started on the bench against Nantes in the league last time out, with Presnel Kimpembe rotating in and Danilo filling in. Galtier has also attempted to rotate new summer acquisition Nordi Mukiele with regular starter Achraf Hakimi at right back.
It is unclear whether Galtier will remain with the in-form Gianluigi Donnarumma in all competitions or turn to Keylor Navas in cup action.

Dusan Vlahovic was rested in the weekend Serie A game against Fiorentina, and was replaced by Arkadiusz Milik, so he should be fit and ready to go against PSG. Wojciech Szczesny is out with an ankle injury and will be replaced by Mattia Perin.
Defender Leonardo Bonucci made the bench as well, but his match fitness is unknown after returning from a muscular injury. In his absence, Federico Gatti started with regular Bremer, while Danilo filled in against Fiorentina.
Signing of a new midfielder Leandro Paredes made his Juventus debut right away against Fiorentina, and he should be ready to face his previous club less than a week after finishing a loan. Angel Di Maria, who joined the club on a free transfer this summer, is also expected to face his previous club.

Pick and prediction for PSG vs Juventus:
Odds are available through Bally Bet (USA), Sports Interaction (Canada), and SkyBet (UK).
While it is obvious that Ligue 1 lacks the weekly challenge that Serie A offers, the league form of these two teams provides an indicator of how the match should go.
PSG’s attacking three are in top form. Neymar is in the forefront, with seven goals and six assists in 455 league minutes, putting the Brazilian atop the Ligue 1 charts. Lionel Messi is also in excellent creative form, with three goals and six assists, and appears to have recovered from last year’s troubles. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe leads the PSG attack with seven goals.
Meanwhile, Juventus strikes a different chord. They’ve drawn three of their five league games so far, earning just one point against Fiorentina, Roma, and Sampdoria. The club has lacked imagination in the final third, scoring only 6.52 xG (expected goals) in five matches, leaving Juve seventh in Serie A, far behind Napoli, Inter, and AC Milan.
At this point in the season, Juventus lacks the consistency to pose a challenge to PSG. It won’t be as easy for PSG as it was in Ligue 1, but with enough pressing and prodding, the game will eventually turn in favor of the hosts.
