The tournament is one of the oldest tennis championships in the world and is one of the four Grand Slam events on the professional tennis circuit. It is also one of the Masters 1000 tournaments on the ATP World Tour. In addition, the women’s event is part of the Premier 5 series on the WTA Tour.
As the ATP Tour heads to Canada for the first time in four years, the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank will take place from 7-15 August at IGA Stadium in Montreal.

This year’s tournament will be the 125th edition of the Canadian Open and will feature a star-studded field headlined by World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. The Serbian superstar is fresh off his Wimbledon triumph and will be looking to add another Masters 1000 title to his collection.

Joining Djokovic in the men’s draw will be fellow Grand Slam champions Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and Marin Cilic, and reigning Nitto ATP Finals champion Alexander Zverev.

World No. 1 Simona Halep will be the top seed in the women’s draw. The Romanian star will be looking to build on her strong start to the season, which has seen her reach the final of the Australian Open and the semi-finals of Roland Garros.

Halep will be joined in the field by reigning US Open champion Naomi Osaka, Wimbledon runner-up Serena Williams and former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka.
The Canadian Open is played on hard courts at the Aviva Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The tournament dates back to 1881, making it one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world. It was first held at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club and has been held in Toronto ever since.

The Canadian Open was first open to international players in 1907. However, the event was not held from 1915 to 1919 due to World War I and from 1940 to 1945 due to World War II. It resumed international play in 1946.

The Canadian Open is one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. Many of the game’s biggest stars have won the event, including Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Maria Sharapova.

The Canadian Open offers a total prize purse of $5 million CAD. The men’s and women’s singles champion each receive $1 million CAD, while the men’s and women’s doubles champion each receive $250,000 CAD.

The 2021 Canadian Open will be held from August 7-15. The tournament will feature both men’s and women’s singles and doubles events and mixed doubles.
